Dad was a horsemen early in life assisting his Grandfather, Edmund C. Grant with his farms and ranch. He loved to train an unbroken young horse. I believe this is Moqui, a young mare that was not ride-able so was given to him on condition he could train her by William H. Brown, who came to New Harmony as a deer hunter and bought a home across the street from Dad's house
