NEPHI - Henry Edward Kay, 76, died Wednesday at his home in Mona. He was born July 29, 1871 at Mona, a son of Edward and Sarah Pardington Kay. He was married to Zelnora Christensen on Nov. 29, 1893.
He was a member of the LDS church and worked as president of the Young Men's Mutual in early years.
He was superintendent on the railroad at Milford and lived in Milford for three years. Moving to Salt Lake City, he lived there for 25 years before returning to Mona.
His is survived by his widow, Mrs. Zelnora C. Kay; two sons, Darrell H., Mona, and Jack Kay, Salt Lake City; four daughters, Lillian Deon Ellertson, Helen Irene Fordham, and Meda Marie Norris of Salt Lake, and Ruth Irene Garfield, Mona; 25 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; three brothers and sisters, Mrs. Rachel Keyte, Hyrum Isaac Kay, of Mona; and Kenneth Kay, a grandson of Mona, whom he raised.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p. m. in the Mona ward.
Friends may call at the home Friday evening and Saturday until time of services. Burial will be in the Mona cemetery.
