Ruth Irene Garfield Greenhalgh, age 85, passed away on December 30, 1996 at her home in Mona, Utah.


She was born August 25, 1911 in Milford, Utah to Henry E. and Zelnora Christensen Kay.


She married Thomas Leonard Garfield on October 14, 1930 in Heber City, Utah. Marriage later solemnized in the Manti Temple. He died on October 22, 1965. She married James Earl Greenhalgh on January 27, 1972 in Mona, Utah. He died on June 27, 1992.


Survived by her children, Pat (Bill) Sutherland of Mona; Linda (Gordon) Jones of Bountiful; Tom (Mary) Garfield of Pleasant Grove; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Fordham and Mada Norris; one brother, Milton (Jack) Kay, all of Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by a son, Dale Garfield; and two grandsons; five brothers and sisters.


Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 1996 in the Mona Ward Chapel. Friends may call on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North, Nephi, and at the Church one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Mona Cemetery.
