Forrest DeLatte, a lifelong resident of Denham Springs, was born May 20, 1915, and passed away at 2:35 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2009, at his home surrounded by his family. He was a retired Livingston Parish school bus driver, a former police juror of Ward 2 and a farmer. Visitation at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Tuesday, April 14, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and continued at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 15, from 8 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Zach Winningham and the Rev. Wayne Talley. Burial in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery in Denham Springs. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Ruby Avants DeLatte; two daughters and sons-in-law, Wilma C. and Jerry Sanchez and Margaret D. and Raymond Hood; two grandchildren, Judy Cardon Falgoust and husband Barry, and Mark Cardon and wife Dianne; three great-grandchildren, Lesley Falgoust, Brett Falgoust and Trent Cardon; two sisters, Stella Dugas and Ethel Reeves; brother, Alton E. DeLatte; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Virginia Bennett DeLatte; sisters, Angeline Hooper, Lillie Paline, Elsie Harris, Nettie Felder, Bertha Crowder, Louella Cook, Adrienne Schaffet and Mary Tyler; and brothers, John, Wickliff, James, Ellis and Bernard DeLatte. Pallbearers will be Barry and Brett Falgoust, Mark and Trent Cardon, Brian Dugas, Richard Barnett, Dale Johnson and Darrell Dugas. We want to thank Generations Hospice for the wonderful care our father received in the last days of his life. Memorial donations may be made to Generations Hospice and the Masonic Children's Hospital in Shreveport.
