She was born in Westerly on July 14, 1920, daughter of the late Bruno and Carmela (Acolina) Parrilla.
Mrs. Bruno was co-owner and operator of the former Bruno’s Meat Market in Westerly with her husband for many years before retiring in 1988 due to illness.
A communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Westerly, she was also a member of the Daughters of Italy.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Bruno was an accomplished cook who enjoyed preparing delicious meals for her family every Sunday as well as on all holidays. She also enjoyed making crafts and was especially talented with ceramics.
In addition to her husband of 59 years, she is survived by two sons and their wives, Rico and Linda Bruno of Pawcatuck and Frank P. and Mary Bruno of Westerly. She also leaves one daughter and son-in-law, Palma and Medoro Trombino of Westerly; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, Frank, and Roland Parrilla; and two sisters, Mary DiGange and Philomena Chiaradio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 111 High St., Westerly, on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held in Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly.
