Bio

I have been doing family research since the mid 90s starting with Manfredi, DePerry, Spellman & Italiano in the Westerly, Rhode Island and Pawcatuck, Connecticut area.

In the early 2000’s I was handed a note book full of my daughters’ family history, on their mother’s side, that gave me additional names to chase locally, Kettle, Jolley, Sweet.

I have recently made this an “everyday hobby”, combining it with my photography skills, after being visited by relatives from Acri, Italy that I had come in contact with through an on-line genealogy message board. After a two day deep dive into our families’ history utilizing the resources at the Westerly Library, Westerly Town Hall and a visit to St. Sebastien’s Cemetery I had gotten the drive to research and assist again.

Finding a majority of my family being laid to rest in St. Sebastien’s in Westerly and St. Michael’s in Pawcatuck, I am in one or the other every day photographing and documenting. If I have no leads on my own family, I concentrate on veterans and single headstones.
Having an interest in local history, I do a quick follow up on all photos I submit to learn more about the person and the time that they lived in through local newspapers and vital records.
