Alice Lawson Joyce, 92, of Collinsville, Va., passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018. She was born on November 17, 1925 in Patrick County, Va. to the late Virgil Lawson and Carrie Belle Martin Lawson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Harvey Joyce; daughter, Gail Joyce Smith; sisters, Peggy Lawson, and Betty L. Davis; brothers, Claude Lawson, Paul Lawson and Dewey Lawson; and grandchild, Chris Stultz.
Mrs. Joyce was a member of Community Primitive Baptist Church and Southern Area Agency on Aging.
She is survived by her daughters, Vickie Joyce Pauley of Patrick Springs, Va., Joan Joyce Turner of Patrick Springs, Va., and June Joyce Martin of Kernersville, N.C.; sons, John "Steve" Joyce of Franklin County, Va. and Roger W. Joyce of Franklin County, Va.; sisters, Barbara Williams of Rocky Mount, Va., and Joy Gammons of Fieldale, Va.; brothers, Claude Lawson of Danville, Va., Nash Lawson of Collinsville, Va., and David Lawson of Collinsville, Va. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel with the Rev. Rick Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Norris Funeral Services. Burial will be held at Roselawn Burial Park.
