Mr. Armstrong passed away April 9, 2018 in Tyler. He was born February 27, 1927 in Marshall. He served in the United States Army during WWII and later worked as a railroad mechanic.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Cynthia Armstrong; wife, Esther (Patton) Armstrong; daughter, Cynthia J. Allen; great grandson, Samuel T. Moore; siblings, Kathryn Armstrong, Albert Armstrong, George Armstrong, Marie Simmons, Elizabeth Savell; and children, Robert Lee Armstrong, Roy Lee Armstrong and Edwin Albert Armstrong.
Survivors include wife, Texie Armstrong of Chandler; daughter, Patricia Tatom and best friend Alan Crosier of Stanford, Kentucky; sons, Daniel L. Armstrong and spouse Patricia of Georgetown, Darrell Armstrong of Tyler; son, Leslie Thompson and spouse Latricia of Lubbock; brothers, A.R. Armstrong and spouse Marynan of Carthage, Freddie Lee Armstrong and spouse May of Longview, Herbert Ray Armstrong and spouse Patsy of Beckville; sister, Mary June Grasffi and spouse B.J. of Houston; nine grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
