Sophie Pulcini, 82, of Lower Burrell, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013, in Forbes Hospice, West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born Aug. 25, 1930, in Natrona, to the late Stanley and Blanche (Cieslinski) Olszewski. She was the wife of the late Raymond Pulcini, who died in 2011. In addition to her parents and husband, Sophie was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Marie Pulcini; two brothers, Edward and Anthony Olszewski; three sisters, Stella Figliano, Josephine Sabatini and Steffie Dubik; and a daughter-in-law, Monica Pulcini. She was a member of Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington. Sophie worked as a cook at Belair Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lower Burrell, and enjoyed the people there. She also enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pirates and Steelers, golfing, cooking and spending time with family and grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara (Fred) Snyder, of Verona; three sons, Raymond Pulcini, of Florida, David (Debbi) Pulcini, of New Kensington, and Robert (Robin) Pulcini, of New Kensington; 11 grandchildren, Shawn (Jennifer) Snyder, of Penn Hills, Ronald (Loren) Pulcini, of Florida, Christopher (Shelly) Pulcini, of Florida, Jonathan (Hope) Pulcini, of Florida, Timothy and Amber Pulcini, of Florida, Nicole and Rebecca Pulcini and Nicholas, Zachary and Olivia Pulcini, of New Kensington; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Olszewski, of Natrona Heights, and Leonard (Alice) Olszewski, of Natrona; two sisters, Barbara Helen (Gene) Rutkowski, of Natrona Heights, and Lottie Sikorski, of Natrona Heights; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at GIUNTA- BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., JohnPaul Bertucci, supervisor, 1509 5th Ave., Arnold. Prayers of transfer will take place 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lower Burrell.
