The death occurred suddenly in Wagga yesterday, of a very highly esteemed resident, Mrs. Eliza Alice Wells, of Henry Street, North Wagga aged 57 years. Deceased was the widow of Mr. Ezekiel George Wells, who died about 13 months ago. Mrs. Wells was born in Wagga and was the second daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs John Hurst, of North Wagga, who were among the oldest pioneers of the Wagga district. She was married in Wagga to Mr. Wells and had resided here all her life. Mrs. Wells, who had a very wide circle of friends, took a keen Interest in all church affairs and was an ardent and regular attendant at St Mary's Church, North Wagga. She is survived by one daughter. Miss Lillian Wells, of Henry Street, and three sisters, Mary Jane (Mrs. Geo. Peacock), of Turvey Park, Ada (Mrs. G. A. M'Lear) of Macleay Street, and Maude (Mrs. W. E. Edmondson) of Liverpool, and three brothers, Messrs. Robert Hurst of North Wagga, Arthur Hurst of Coolamon, and Albert Hurst of Holbrook. The funeral will leave St. John's Church at 4.30 o'clock to-day, for the Wagga cemetery.
