The body of Mrs. Mary (Carlton) Stringfellow, widow of Harry Stringfellow, whose death occurred September 19, reached Elwood Tuesday and was taken to the Clark chapel. Short services were held and interment took place beside the husband in the Elwood cemetery.
The death of Mrs. Stringfellow occurred Sunday and followed an extended illness. For some time her sister, Mrs. M. G. Nicholson of Walnut street, had been at Gary caring for her.
Mrs. Stringfellow was reared in Elwood, where her husband operated a drug store for years before going to Gary in 1907, where they had since resided and where both died. In addition to the sister in Tipton, at whose home the deceased often visited, Mrs. Stringfellow leaves several brothers and a sister, Mrs. Asher L. Alford of Hutchinson; Kas.
Funeral services were held at Gary Tuesday morning.
