Allan R. Beck, age 68, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2015, at Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown. Rev. Janet Miller will officiate. Music will be provided by Mike Stusiak as organist with Jerod Jordan as the guitarist. The family is requested to meet at the church on Monday by 10:00 a.m. for a prayer service.

Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. with a 4:30 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue on Monday prior to services at the church.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Kim Wilde, Garry Dumpke and the PLHS Home Health & Hospice employees. Active pallbearers will be: Steve Beck, Doug Beck, Mark Reents, Shannon Beck, Brandon Beck, Wayne Johnson, Kenny Sheldon, Christopher Sheldon, Jenna Volzke, Caitlin Freese, Morgen Bunde, Bradly Bunde, Brett Bunde, Cody Beck, Casey Beck and Charley Beck.

Allan was born on October 29, 1947, in Canova, SD, to Virgil and Esther (Schneider) Beck. He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1966 and then went to work for Cook Lumber in Clear Lake.

On July 25, 1970, Allan married Rosemary “Rose” Meyer at Grace Lutheran in Watertown, SD, and lived in Clear Lake. Allan started as a journeyman plumber and moved to Watertown, SD. Allan eventually started his own plumbing business, Beck Plumbing, in 1976. He ran that business until 2000 when he retired.

Allan enjoyed his family, gardening, quilting and baking. He was the “go to” man in the family and loved family history. He had a huge heart for anyone. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Allan is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rose, of Watertown; two daughters: Michele (Douglas) Freese, of South Shore, SD, and Nichole (Kip) Bunde, of Florence, SD; one brother, Michael, and his fiancé, Linda Kruthoff, of Watertown, SD; one sister, Sandi (Daryl) Johnson, of Watertown; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lonnie and Kenneth; two sisters, Norma and Patricia; and two nephews, Jeffrey Beck and Jamie Wanner.
