Carl E. Lanning, of RD White Haven, died Friday at NPW Medical Center, Plains.
He was born in Berwick, a son of the late David and Katherine (Lynn) Lanning. He had resided in White Haven for the past 20 years.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Philadelphia School Board.
He was a member of the White Haven Methodist Church, White Haven.
He and his wife observed their 58th anniversary in April.
He was preceded in death by a son: Veryl, in 1976; sisters: Emma Samsel and Erma Taylor.
He is survived by his wife, the former Betty Mowrer; daughters: Mrs. Kinney (Eleanor) Earnhart, and Mrs. George (Joan) McClellan, both of Philadelphia; brother: Harvey of Berwick; sisters: Mrs. Espy Lowery, Mrs. Margaret Pressler and Mrs. Gwenavie Eiffert, all of Berwick; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Michael J. McHugh Funeral Home, 403 Berwick Street, White Haven.
The Rev. James Nenninger, chaplian of the NPW Medical Center will officiate.
Interment will be in Elan Memorial Park at Lime Ridge.
