She received her degree in elementary education in 1959 from Washburn University at Topeka, Kansas.
Abbie taught school 25 years in six Jackson County rural schools and finished 37 years of teaching at the Elementary Colorado School just across the street from her home in Holton.
Abbie and Orville celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary April, 1977 with an open house in the 4-H Fair Building in Holton, Kansas.
Abbie and Orville was blessed with a daughter, Juanita Mae Landon.
