Alice Elizabeth Scott Barnes

Alice Elizabeth Scott Barnes, 88 of Selma, born October 25, 1924 died October 31, 2012. Services will be held in the Chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home on Saturday November 3, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jerry Burton and Reverend Danny Scott officiating and burial to follow in the New Live Oak Cemetery.

Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her parents Pinkie Monroe Scott and Alice Watson Scott; her husband of 60 years, Daniel Jackson Barnes; son James Thomas Barnes; six brothers and one sister. Survivors are her four sons, Willard (Gloria) Barnes, Eugene (Gail) Barnes, Bruce Barnes and Gwyn Barnes all of Selma; four daughters, Alice (Al) Wales of Huntsville, AL, Patricia (Berry) Vines, Elaine (Eddie) Shumate and Judy (Johnny) Robinson all of Selma; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Eric Barnes, Everett Barnes, Jonathan Barnes, Brandon Barnes, Ronald Barnes and Brent Morris. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bryant Barnes, David Vines and Jeff Clark.

The family will receive friends at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Friday November 2, 2012.

The family would like to say a special thank you to her caregiver Barbara Garris for the love she showed our mother and to the family at Southern Care Hospice and Emma Jones.
