Violanda (Galinelli) Raposa, age 92 of Fall River. Widow of Joseph A. Raposa and daughter of the late Rocco and Annunziata (Andreozzi) Galinelli. Passed away March 6, 2009. Born in Warren, RI, she resided in Fall River most of her life. She was a member of St. Michael Church, worked in the sewing industry all her life and retired as a Supervisor at Forecaster Coat Mfg. in Fall River and was also a Sewing Teacher at Diman Vocational High School. She previously worked at Lin Jay Mfg.
She is survived by: 1 daughter Nancy P. Scopa and her husband Paul of New Boston, NH; 3 siblings: Joseph Galinelli of Barrington, RI, John Galinelli of Warren, RI and Carmella Gemma of Middletown, CT; 2 grandchildren:Kevin & Lisa, 2 great grandchildren:Addison and Ethan and many nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Peter, James, Albert, & Guido Galinelli, Mary Grant, Madeline Vanderschaff and Margaret Silvia.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church.Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset.
