Norman H. Amborn, age 82 of Saginaw, passed away Friday, August 15, 2014 at Bayshore Health Care Center in Duluth, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 10, 1932 in Saginaw to Oscar and Amanda (Bohnsack) Amborn.

Norman served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and received the Purple Heart Medal. He was united in marriage to Charlene Kubis on May 7, 1960 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cloquet. He worked as a truck driver most of his life and was a member of Teamsters Union Local #346, driving for Arrowhead Blacktop. Norman was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Saginaw; the Carl Anderson American Legion Post 262 of Cloquet; Hebert-Kennedy VFW Post 3979 of Cloquet; and the Carlton County Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 18. He enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, visiting with family and friends, and telling jokes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Charlene; and brothers: Melvin, Ervin, and Lester.

Norman is survived by his children: Kerry (Jim Ray) Amborn, Kevin Amborn, and Kim (Greg) Johnson; grandchildren, Jacob, Kyle, and Shawna; brothers: Roy and Elmer (Joyce) Amborn; sisters: Dora Ahlgren and Sarah Trader; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment will be held at St. John's Cemetery
