PAULINE FLEMING
Ada Pauline Fleming, long time Rotan resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 28, 2011. She was 94. Services will be Sunday, January 30, 2:00 pm at the First Methodist Church in Rotan.

She was born on February 10, 1916, the second child and only daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Lee) Fleming of Rotan. She grew up in Rotan and graduated from high school there in 1936. Following high school she attended Draughn's Business College in Abilene, and later, during WWII, worked for the War Department in San Angelo and Big Spring. Upon her return to Rotan in 1946 and began working for the Callan Hospital, Doctor's Clinic, and Pharmacy as a bookkeeper. She continued that work for 46 years, finally retiring from the Clinic Pharmacy in 1992.

Pauline never married but was blessed, throughout her life, with wonderful and dear friends. She also raised and dearly loved and cared for her great niece, Meg, following the death of Meg's parents in 1967. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Willie "Yoke" Fleming, James Fleming, and Walter Fleming; two half brothers, George Gordon Fleming, and Cecil Edwards; and her dear niece, Willene Fleming Field and Willene's husband, Marlin Field. She is survived by her great niece, Meg Field Jordan, and husband Luke Jordan of Lubbock; a niece, Elizabeth Ann Snodgrass and husband Jerry Snodgrass of Kileen: and a nephew, Robert Fleming and wife Betty of Lubbock; and many many friends. Special thanks to friends Erbie Jr. and Sherry Rodgers of Rotan who went to great lengths to provide assistance, care, and comfort to Pauline during her last few years.
