Elmer was born to Macy and Henry Falkner on July 19, 1926 in San Angelo. His family moved to Callahan County when he was a young child. They returned to San Angelo when he was a teenager where he met the love of his life, Florene James. They were together for 68 years. He served in the Navy during World War II. His occupations were varied, but many may remember him as "The Barber" on Bell Street & Norma. He and Florene were active church goers wherever they lived. He liked spending time with family, fishing, and sharing Jesus with others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, several siblings and his son, Joe Falkner.
He is survived by his wife Florene, sister Louise Boyles, brother Robert Falkner, daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and David Norris, daughter-in-law Diana Falkner, 4 grandchildren, Jeffery and Lesley Norris, Natilie and Terry Johnson, Shane and Melissa Falkner, Heather and Cam Scott , 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of Shannon for their care as well as Hospice of San Angelo for easing his passing.
