Riley Falkner, 77, of Abilene, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2006 at a local hospital. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, January 23, 2006 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at the Potosi Cemetery.
Mr. Falkner was born on June 4, 1928 in San Angelo, Texas to Henry Valentine Falkner and Macy Laura (Rowan) Falkner. He attended school in Long Branch and served in the United States Army. On December 4, 1953, Riley married Doris Erlene Conder in Haskell, Texas. He was employed by Dowell Service as a mechanic for 28 years. Mr. Falkner was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and the "Burger King Coffee Club". He was a Baptist.
Riley was preceded in death by both of his parents, four brothers, William Carrol, Vernon, Daniel and John Falkner; and one sister, Shirley Falkner Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Erlene of Potosi; three sons, Ronald G. Falkner of Potosi, Terry M. Falkner of Abilene, and Ricky L. Falkner and his wife Kelli of Rule; one daughter, Sharon D. Falkner of Potosi; two brothers, Henry Elmer Falkner and his wife Florene, of San Angelo, Robert H. Falkner and his wife Judy, of Diane, Texas; one sister, Macy Louise Boyles and her husband John, of Brady, Texas; four grandchildren, Kyle Pate, Arron Patrick, Joanna Ellen and Taylor Dayne Falkner, and several nieces and nephews.
