Lydia Morris was a daughter of Job Morris and his wife, Mary (Ansley) Morris. She was married to her first cousin, Abel Ansley, on 30 Jan 1790 in Richmond County, Georgia. They had eleven known children.

Lydia and her family resided in what is now known as the Old Rock House in what is now Thomson, McDuffie County, Georgia. It is a fortified stone house built about 1785 by Thomas Ansley and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
