BOONEVILLE - Clara C. Taylor, 89, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at Darlington Oaks Hospice. She was born Feb. 23, 1923, to Joseph Lee and Ada Mae Tidwell Clark. She married Travis Harding Taylor on May 20, 1944, and they remained together until his death Feb. 9, 1969. She was a member of Hills Chapel Church of Christ, and she was retired from Prentiss County School System.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at McMillan Funeral Home with Minister Johnny Miller and Minister Dwain Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Martin Hill Cemetery.

Survivors are one son, Wayne (Shirlee) Taylor; one daughter-in-law, Carol Taylor of Booneville; one sister, Joyce (Jim) Lewis of Jacksonville, N.C.; three grandchildren, Brian, Joseph and Grant Taylor; one great-grandchild, Samuel Lee Taylor; and one special friend, Cathy Todd.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son, Jerry Lee Taylor; four sisters, Betty Joe Martin, Agnes Wilemon, Louise Turvaville and Clister Mathis; and one brother, Leo Clark.

Pallbearers will be Brian, Joseph and Grant Taylor, Travis Long, William L. McKinney and Mac Gilliland. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Hills Chapel Church of Christ congregation.
