MORRISVILLE - Georgianna Pope Manosh, 80, of Morrisville, died peacefully with her loving children by her side, Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, in The Manor in Morrisville.
She was born in Morrisville, Feb. 10, 1932, the daughter of John Burrows and Mae (Spaulding) Pope.
She grew up at Fairwood Farm in Morrisville and was a 1950 graduate of Peoples Academy. Georgianna received a four-year scholarship to attend Johnson State College, but was unable to complete due to health concerns. She married Clifford Manosh in Morrisville on April 28, 1951. Clifford passed away in 1979. Georgianna was very active in the community as a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, Copley Hospital Auxiliary and the Daughters of the Rebekah. She also volunteered her time as a 4-H leader, member of the Good Will Circle, the Morristown Historical Society, American Cancer Society , and served over 20 years as an American Red Cross Blood Services volunteer. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, dancing and taking care of her family and always showed concern for others. Georgianna spent her final years under the special loving care of the nurses and staff of The Manor nursing home in Morrisville.
She is survived by her children, Clifford "Skip" Manosh and wife, Bonnie, of Morrisville, and daughter, Nancy LeBoeuf and husband, Michael, of Essex Junction; brother, William Pope and wife, Barbara, of Northfield; grandchildren, Bradley Manosh and fiancee, Jessica, Ryan Manosh, Loren Manosh and wife, Mallorie, and J. Blake Manosh; great-granddaughter, Mercedes Manosh; brothers-in-law, Howard Manosh and Victor Manosh; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Clifford; she was predeceased by her sisters, Roberta Lilley and husband, Bernard, Priscilla Hogg and husband, Donald, and Carol Allen and husband, Ralph; brother-in-law, Gardner Manosh; and special friends, Percy Lanpher and Bud Locke.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Puffer United Methodist Church in Morrisville.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the White-Fiess Funeral Home, 165 Brooklyn St., Morrisville.
Interment in Pleasant View Cemetery will follow the memorial service.
