Thomas Mosteller of Laporte Township died at his residence on Thursday afternoon Oct. 27th at 2 o'clock, aged 61 years. Deceased had been suffering from dropsy of the heart for several weeks and was confined to his bed up to about a week previous to his death.

At this period he was somewhat better and being an industrious man he was not content to be confined in his room but sought out door recreation. It is thought that he was somewhat inclined to be careless and took a relapse which resulted in his death.

The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon at Peterman's schoolhouse Rev. S.A. McClain of Central Columbia County officiating. Deceased leaves a wife, three sons and two daughters to mourn his death. The funeral was well attended by a large concourse of friends.
