She was born Elizabeth Monica Tangeman in 1909 in the St. Benedict community in Nemaha County, to Bernard and Elizabeth S. Tangeman. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School in St. Benedict and was a housekeeper in Kansas City, Kan. several years. She joined Benedictine Sisters in 1937 and professed her vows in 1939.
She was a graduate of Mt. St. Scholastica Academy and College in Atchison. She taught in parish schools staffed by Benedictine Sisters in Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Colorado and Iowa from 1939 until 1972. Her career included several years at St. Benedict's in Kansas City, Kan. and St. Joseph's in Shawnee. She retired from teaching in 1973.
Two nephews survive.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 4 P. M. Wednesday in the choir chapel at Mt. St. Scholastica Convent. Burial will be in the Mt. St. Scholastica Cemetery.
