Tommy Purcell, 67, of Odessa passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2004. He was born Dec. 8, 1936, in Monahans. He was a U.S. Navy and Army veteran of the Korean War, Vietnam War and the Cuban Missle Crisis. He had worked as an electrician for the E.C.I.S.D. for seven years. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandra Purcell of Odessa; four sons, Thomas David Purcell of Iraan, James Edward Purcell of Portland, Ore., Christopher Douglas Purcell and Eugene Michael 'Bo' Purcell, both of Odessa; brothers, Teddy Joe Purcell and Johnny Purcell, both of Waxahachie, Charlie Purcell of Greeley, Colo., and Billy Purcell of Fresno, Calif.; sister, Marjorie Smelser of Odessa and five grandchildren, Jamie, Jessica, Dustin, Ashlynn and Thomas.
The family will meet with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with Rev. Ted Purcell officiating.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
