E B Guy passed away at the Deaconess hospital in Marshalltown on Wednesday, July 25, after an illness of twelve day's duration of uremic poisoning. He had been in failing health for the past three years.

Edgar Bryant Guy was born November 13, 1867 near Leroy, Illinois where he grew to manhood and received his elementary education. He attended the Illinois Wesleyan college one year and then taught school near his home. Later he took up farming. In 1899 he moved to Nevada, Iowa later going to Grand Junction where he lived until 1902 when he established his home on a farm, one mile south of St Anthony. He lived there until 1921 when he retired from active farm life and moved to St Anthony. He was a member of the Modern Woodman and Odd Fellow lodges and served on the school board for many years, being secretary at the time of his death. He joined the Church of Christ in 1914. He never married but in 1903 he took into his home his widowed sister Mrs Mary Easton, and her three children.

Left to mourn his loss are his sister, Mrs Easton, his nephews, Richard P Easton of Clemons, John E Easton of St Anthony and his niece, Mrs Gilbert Turner of Albion.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Christian Church in charge of Rev Tuttle of Zearing. The music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs Myrta McCormack, Mrs Marion Hickman, C P Lindquist and F G Meekins. The pallbearers were Thos Gilmore, William Lyons, Frank Bryant, John Mackin, Jack Batson and William Ward. The flower girls were Ruth Schryver, Elnora Wallwork, Hollis LaPlant and Marjorie Hickman. The funeral was largely attended by friends in the community and nearby towns.
