Sue Dustin Alvey, 93, of Marlin, Texas, entered into rest Wednesday, Nov. 25,
2009. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m., Monday, November 30, in Hillcrest
Cemetery, with the Rev. Clement Gordon officiating. The family will receive
friends from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. Monday, at Adams Funeral Home.
Sue was born in Kosse, Texas, to the late Richard and Betty Elder Swinnea. She
was a homemaker, a member of First Presbyterian Church in Marlin, and a life
long resident of the Marlin area. She enjoyed knitting and gardening, but her
yard and her flowers were her favorite past time.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James M. "Dusty" Dustin; her
second husband, Daniel B. "Cokie" Alvey; and sisters, Onita Burns, Irma Briggs,
Nancy Roberson and Anna Pharis.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews, including Billy Briggs and his
wife, Gloria, of Marlin.
