Harriet Jackel, 90, passed away Monday, October 14, 2002, following a brief illness. She was born in New York City and has resided in Jacksonville for the past 24 years.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Harry Jackel; her daughter, Lenore " Lee" Egan Urove (James) of Jacksonville Beach; and her son, Richard Jackel (Francine) of Ardsley, New York.

In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren, Dawn Geevers (Hans), Shannon Egan, Jeffrey Jackel (Laurie), and Andrew Jackel (Deb); and greatgranddaughter, Miranda Jackel.

She actively volunteered with River Garden Home for thirteen years. Additionally, she was a member of Hadassah, Beth Shalom Congregation and the Jewish Community Alliance.

A graveside service will be held at Beth Shalom Cemetery (Evergreen Gate 5) at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 17th. Rabbi Daniel Mehlman will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 57 p.m. Wednesday, October 16th at HardageGiddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Avenue.

The family requests no flowers. Donations in her memory may be made to the Jewish Federation of Jacksonville, 8505 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida 32257.
