Paul Hadley was the son of Ella Hadley. He was a former resident of Mooresville, Indiana. Later, in Indianapolis, Mr. Hadley became a prominent water color artist and art school instructor. Prior to World War I, Mr. Hadley designed what was selected to be the official Indiana state flag. And his design has been the official flag of Indiana since then. Upon his death, Mr. Hadley was cremated and his ashes were buried in the Hadley family plot at Crown Hill.
