Mae Newsom, 84, died Oct. 14, 1992 at the Woodbriar Nursing Home in Harrisburg. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Harrisburg.
Newsom was the wife of Asberry "Pete" Newsom, Jr. who preceded her in death Nov. 17, 1989.
Funeral services were held Oct. 16 at Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home chapel. Interment was in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery, Rev. Larry White officiating.
Survivors include two sons, Paul Newsom of Greenville, Miss. and Ray Newsom of Atlanta, GA.; one daughter, Bettye Daughterty of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters, Lois Riley of Harrisburg and Edith Wright of Nashville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
