Mrs. C C Vance of Houlka Dies

Funeral services for Mrs. Tommie Denton Vance, 87, of Houlka, who died at 8:30 am, Tuesday, May 6, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M J Bagwell in Memphis, were conducted from the Wesley Parksburg Baptist Church at 2 pm, Thursday, May 8.

The Rev. Jimmy Dyson officiated. Interment was in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery with Memorial Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers were James E Turman, John D Turman, Jesse R Vance, Charles Vance, Dale Vance, and James Gregory.

A lifelong resident of Chickasaw county, Mrs. Vance was born July 20, 1881. She was the daughter of Ike Denton and Liddie Ann Mooneyham Denton.

She leaves her husband, C C Vance of Houlka, three sons, M S Vance of Houlka and Howard and Leslie Vance, both of Memphis; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Gregory, Mrs. Robbie Bagwell, and Mrs. Agnes Combs, all of Memphis; a sister, Mrs. Alma Haley of Nashville, four half sisters,, a half brother, 18 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
