WILLIAM SCHOLLE DEAD.
Willia Scholle, founder of the banking firm of Scholle Brothers, 5 Nassau Street, died yesterday, after four weeks' illness from pneumonia, at his home, 13 East Forty-ninth Street. He was born in Bavaria in 1822, and came to this country in 1841. A few years later he established the firm of Scholle Brothers, dealers in clothing and woolens, with a branch house in San Francisco. He went to California in 1950, when the firm became a banking establishment. He returned to New York in 1881.

Six Institutions Benefit Under Banker Scholle's Will.
- William Scholle, founder of the banking firm of Scholle Brothers at 5 Nassau Street, who died May 16, in his will, which was filed for probate yesterday, made specific bequests of $17,000 to charitable institutions. The Montefiore Home for Incurables received $4,500 and the Pacific Hebrew Orphan Asylum and Home Society of San Francisco, the Home for Aged and Infirm Hebrews, the Hebrew Benevolent Orphan Asylum, the Mount Sinai Hospital, and the Hebrew Free School Association, $2,500 each.
Mr. Scholle bequeathed to his daughter, Clara S. Kurzman, the house at 13 East Forth-ninth Street, where she now is living. The residue of the estate was divided into five parts, to be held in trust, for Albert W. Scholle, his son; Minnie Frowenfeld, Florence Rothenberg **, Clara S. Kurzman, his daughters, and Gertrude S. Joseph, his grand-daughter.
