Viet victim rites Monday
Funeral services for U.S. Marine Corps PFC. Phillip Overturf, 18, of West Frankfort, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at West Frankfort Church of Christ. The Rev. Jerry Butler, pastor will officiate. A military spokesman said Overturf was killed April 19 in Vietnam by an exploding mine or mortar shell. He was the son of Evan Overturf of West Frankfort and Kay Overturf of Marion. Besides his parents he leaves his step-mother, Wanda Reach Overturf; brother, Jeff of West Frankfort; sisters, Mrs. Diane Fries and Mrs. Sandy Osterhout, both of West Frankfort; step-brother, John Reach at home; step-sisters, Mrs. Roy Nolan and Mrs. James Nolan of West Frankfort and Nancy Reach at home. Burial will be in the Tower Heights Cemetery, West Frankfort. Friends may call at the Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort.
