Eugene Collins, 80, beloved husband of Genevieve "Jan" Collins, died Sunday, October 26, 2008, in Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center.

He was born on Jan. 10, 1928, in Snowflake, Va., the son of Elijah and Virginia Gibson Collins. He was retired as Superintendant of Maintenance at Harvard Industries in Albion, Mich., and has served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was past commander of the Richmond V.F.W. and was the founder of the 76th Engineers Annual Reunion. He was an avid golfer with two holes in one and was a member of Central Kentucky Golf Association.

Other survivors include: his beloved daughter, Deborah (Craig) Adams of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Clyde Collins of Battle Creek, Mich.; two sisters, Vista Layne of Ashland and Bonnie Hoag of Concord, Mich; two grandchildren, Ashley Brummer (Jeremy) and Kyle Collins Adams; and one great-grandchild, Emilynn Brummer.

He was preceded in death by: four brothers, Ezra, Palmer, Orville and Castle Collins; and one sister, Nora Stone.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at J.W. Call Funeral Home in Pikeville, Ky.
