County. Born April 4, 1930, in Union Township, Huntingdon County, he was
a son of the late Raymond and Myrtle (Crownover) Prough. He married
Esther (Cramer) Allen Aug. 23, 1969. Mrs. Prough survives at home, along
with six step-children: Anna Stapleton, Mount Union; John Allen, HC 1,
Huntindgon; Bill Allen, Warren, Ohio; Tim Allen, HC 1, Huntingdon; Dan
Allen, Huntingdon; and David Allen, Altoona. Four siblings, Anna
Chilcote of Calvin, Betty Leonard of Saltillo, Larry Prough of HCR 1,
Broad Top, and Sharon Prough of Shade Gap, survive. One step-sister,
Carolyn Allen of HC 1, Huntingdon, survives. He was preceded in death by
three brothers and three sisters: Clair, Robert, Cloyd, Virginia,
Shirley and Rosie. In his younger years, Mr. Prough attended the Harmony
Church of God in Calvin, R.D. During his life, he was employed as a
logger and lumberman. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday,
March 23, at the Robert I. McClain Funeral Home, Cassville, with the
Rev. Donald Henderson officiating. Interment will be made in the Trough
Creek Valley Baptist Cemetery, Calvin, R.D.
