Mr. Billy Frank Gallant, age 54, of Kennard, passed away Monday, November 1, 2011 in the Memorial Hospital in Lufkin. He was born September 7, 1957 in Buda, Texas and had lived in Kennard most of his lifetime. Mr. Gallant had worked in Auto Parts Sales and was a member of the Mt. Olive Church.

Survivors include daughter, Ashley Gallant of Kennard; granddaughter, Hailey Morgan of Kennard; one step-daughter, Shannon Best and husband, Derek of Kennard; one step-son, Sgt. Matthew Grissom of Kennard; step grandchildren, Blake and Brooke Best of Kennard; brother, Danny Gallant and wife, Ethel of Kennard; nieces and nephews, Sonya Stevenson and husband , Shane of Kennard, Logan Gallant and wife, Liz of Kennard, great-nieces, Skylar Stevenson and Sarah and Katy Gallant of Kennard; numerous cousins and other relatives; special friends, Dana Reed, Deidre Taylor and Mary Martin and family.

Preceded in death by parents, Rayford and Wilma Gallant.

Funeral services for Mr. Billy Frank Gallant will be held Friday, November 4, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. in the Mt. Olive Church in Kennard with Rev. Larry Bruce and Rev. Ottis Byers officiating. Interment will follow in the Corinth Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday evening 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Mt. Olive Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wilma Baker Gallant Elementary Education Scholarship, Stephen F. Austin University, 1936 North Street Box 6108, Nacogdoches, Texas 75962.
