Funeral service for Dennis H. "Tom" Chambers will be Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Lawton Heights United Methodist Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at the funeral home.

Dennis H. "Tom" Chambers, 102, Lawton, passed away Saturday in Lawton. Tom was born to Armer B. and Edna A. (Johnson) Chambers on August 22, 1916 in Oswalt, Oklahoma. He grew up in Oswalt and worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps. Tom married Martha E. Grauer on June 6, 1942 in Lawton and was married for 60 years before Martha's passing in 2003. He entered the Army Air Corps on July 1, 1942 and was honorably discharged in San Antonio, Texas on January 18, 1946. He worked for the Kimball Ranch, drove a Cache school bus and farmed. He worked as a truck driver for M & M Freight and Bell Transfer. Tom later worked at Montgomery Ward as a truck driver and as a salesman until his retirement. He was a member of Lawton Heights United Methodist Church and the Lawton Saddle Club. Tom was a cowboy and loved the cowboy way of life. He loved and attended many of the area rodeos including the Lawton Rangers Rodeo, Cache and Rush Springs rodeos. He was a big fan of roping. Tom also enjoyed dancing.

Tom is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bob Chambers and Paula of Lawton, grandchildren, Kevin H. Chambers and Shannon of Lawton, Christi Chambers and Andrew Kinslow, five great grandchildren, Isaiah Chambers, Hope Chambers, Faith Chambers, Ethan Kinslow and Dail Kinslow, sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jennings and Bill of Mansfield, Texas.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brother, Brady Chambers and sister, Sybil Sanders.
