Brady H. Chambers went to be with the Lord on Feb. 2, 2008, at the age of 94, funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Feb. 4, 2008, at Griffin Hillcrest Chapel with Rev. Kevin Russell and Rev. Les Bussell officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Brady was born April 22, 1913, at Oswalt, Mr. Chambers was a son of the late Armer B. and Edna Johnson Chambers. Brady attended school at Burneyville, Okla., where he was active in basketball, winning the district tournament. He moved to Temple, Okla., where he met and married his wife Lorene on March 22, 1935, in Temple.

Following their marriage they lived at Frederick, Okla., where he was employed in building the military base during World War II. They later purchased his Grandfather B. Johnson's farm at Oswalt in 1941. Brady was one of the moving forces in the development and building of Eastman Baptist Church and a longtime member of Emanuel Baptist Church, Ardmore. In l954 they moved to Ardmore where he was self-employed as a paint and building contractor. He also purchased and built rental property that he managed until his retirement.

Brady was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lorene, who preceded him in death on June 23, 1996, and one sister, Syble Sanders.

He is survived his son Edward Dwain Chambers and his wife Rose Rice Chambers of Marietta, and daughter Beverly Chambers Leverton and her husband Lynn Leverton of Highland Village, Texas; four grandchildren, Randal Chambers, Amarillo, Texas, Rhonda Chambers Taylor, McKinney, Texas, Lindsay Leverton, Lewisville, Texas. and Whitney Leverton Blundell, Yukon, Okla.; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He is also survived by a brother, Dennis Chambers, of Lawton, Okla., and one sister, Betty Jennings, of Mansville, Texas.

He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Robert (Bob) Chambers, Archie Sanders, Sean Alan Chambers, Clay Rice Chambers and Timothy Lewis Taylor, Honorary bearers will be all of his grandchildren.

Services are under the direction of Griffin-Hillcrest Funeral Home.
