James W. Wilson of Madisonville, passed away at 10:10 pm, Thursday, Sept. 27, at Sweetwater Hospital. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Madisonville; Tellico Lodge # 80 F.&A.M. and Madisonville O.E.S. Chapter #426. He was a Shriner and a Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Monroe County Rescue Squad for many years. He was a former educator in Monroe County Schools and was retired from Hiwassee Furniture.
He was 86.
Prceded in death by :first wife- Gertrude Wilson.
Suvirors include: wife- Grace Wilson
Daughter-Gayle McClellan of East Ridge; Sons- Dorsey Wilson of Kaysville, Utah; and Lamar Wilson of Powell; Seven grandchildren; Three great- grandchildren; Brother- Horace Wilson of Englewood; Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were 8pm, Monday, in Biereley-Hale Chapel with the Revs. Mike Jackson and Mike Johnson officiating. Interment was 10 am, Tuesday in Notchey Creek Cemetery. Masonic Servides were 7:45pm, Monday. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville, in charge of arrangements.
