Mrs. Meeks was employed in the home economics department at Central High School for 20 years prior to her marriage in 1941 and for a brief time was Indiana State Director of Nutrition. Before coming to Muncie she was in charge of the YWCA tea room at Evansville. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church and Monday Afternoon Club.
Surviving are her stepdaughter, Mrs. Loren (Frances) Ford, Bellevue, Wash.; her stepson, David Meeks, Muncie; five grandchildren, Sheila Richmond, Ore., Lani Meeks, Santa Barbara, Calif., Mrs. Sheela (Anne) Davis, Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii, Msr. Fred (Maile) Urbaska, Evanston, Ill., and David Meeks, Jr., Muncie; two nieces, Mrs. Jerry Howell, Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Richard Williams, Los Angeles, Calif.; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be in Meeks Mortuary at 1:30 p.m. Friday. Interment will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 2-5 p.m. today and an hour before the services Friday.
