Funeral services for H.A. Hughes, 81, were held in the South Side Baptist Church with Rev. Lynn Wilson officiating.
He was a native of East Texas and had lived in Olney since 1909, where he was a farmer. In 1910, he was a foreman for a coal mine in Leon County, Texas.
Survivors: two sons - Weldon B. Hughes, Harold A. Hughes; daughter - Jewel Marney; two sisters - Mrs. Jeff Ivy, Mrs. Buddie West; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
