Evelyn spent her childhood in Moapa Valley Nevada. She enjoyed being involved in many activities in school such as cheerleading, sports, drama and especially being a majorette. She married her high school sweetheart in the St. George temple on June 25th, 1954 after attending college at SUU. She and Gene lived in many places raising their four children while Gene served in the military. Evelyn's greatest love was her family, especially spending time spoiling her grandchildren. She had many talents which included sewing clothes for her grandchildren, making beautiful quilts and crocheting afghans. She especially loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping and boating.
Evelyn had a deep love for her Savior and showed it through many hours of selfless service to her friends and neighbors. Her life was devoted to the gospel and she loved serving in the church including Young Women's, Primary and playing the piano and organ in every ward they lived in. Gene and Evelyn faithfully served as temple workers at the Mt. Timpanogos temple, where Evelyn played the organ. Evelyn loved music and it was a huge part of her family life, a joy that she passed on to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene B. Mills; her brother Gary Johnson (Sherry); four children, Michael Eugene Mills, Debbie Sue Valgardson (Don), Clair Lee Mills (Maureen) and Cheryl Ann Davis (Mark); 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The Mills family would like to thank all the wonderful neighbors and friends who provided such loving service to Evelyn and her family during the past few years.
