THE MONTGOMERY MONITOR - Mt. Vernon, Georgia
Thursday February 17, 1916

In Memory

Our hearts were made sad on the morning of Jan 17, when Mrs. A.W. Stanford calmly closed her earthly career. In the death of this good woman the family loses one of its oldest and best loved members; she was so patient all of her life, and in her last sickness so willing for the Lord's will to be done.

She was a faithful member of the Missionary Baptist church from early life. She met all with a cheerful word. How sad and lonely without her! How much we wish we could have kept her on. But why should we grieve and mourn? When God recalls his own, and bids them leave a world of woe for an immortal crown. Our prayer is that each remaining one may abide in the faith of our heavenly Father, and in his own time be reunited into an unbroken family.

One who loved her
