WRECK VICTIMS BURIED FRIDAY
Joe Futischa and Daughter, Burned Fatally, Interred at High Hill
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at High Hill church, with burial in High Hill cemetery, for Joe Futischa, 36, and his daughter, Charlene, 15, who were crushed and burned to death early Thursday morning when their truck turned over in a ditch and caught fire nine miles west of Ada.
Futischa was a Choctaw Indian who had recently moved from Atoka to a place near the underpass just southeast of Ada on Highway 48.
No rescue was possible for passers to effect because of the intense heat from the flames which were practically destroying the truck and making certain the death of its occupants, who were trapped in the cab.
Identification was established by the sheriff's office by checking the tag number of the truck, which had been purchased at McAlester.
Surviving Futischa are his widow, parents, several brothers and sisters.

Truck Ditched and Burned 9 Miles West of Ada; Escape Impossible
Joe Futischa, 36, and his daughter, Charlene, 15, were crushed and burned to death this morning about 6:45 when a truck in which they were riding ran off the road, turned over and caught fire about nine miles west of Ada on Highway 19.
Futischa, a Choctaw Indian, had lived at Atoka but had recently moved to a place between Ada and Stonewall, it was reported.
The truck, a Dodge 1928 model, had apparently run off the road and turned over in the ditch. Both victims were pinned within the demolished cab and had no chance to escape. Futischa was badly crushed, it was reported.
RESCUE IMPOSSIBLE
A man and woman in a car arrived shortly after the accident, but the flames from the fire were too hot to allow the man to attempt a rescue, he reported to officers. His name could not be learned.
The two were brought to the Criswell Funeral home. Identification was established by checking the tag number of the truck, which was bought at McAlester.
Cause of the accident could not be determined, but it was thought that Futischa went to sleep while driving, as the truck ran straight into the ditch and turned over.
Funeral services will be held at High Hill church, near Ada, Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Interment will be in the High Hill cemetery.
