CROSS PLAINS - Gertie M. Powell, 90, died Wednesday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Pioneer Cemetery, directed by Higginbotham Funeral Home.
Mrs. Powell was born in Pioneer, where she attended school, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Pioneer Pentecostal Church and was the widow of T.O. Powell, whom she married in 1925 in Cisco.
Survivors include one adopted son, Vick Curry of Pineville, Mo.; one foster daughter, Bonnie Dell Schnaubert of Buchanan Dam; three sisters, Ruby McCowen, Kate McCarty and Blanche Brooks, all of Cross Plains; one brother, Ray Curry of Abilene; and several nieces and nephews.
