TISHOMINGO - Garvin Rast, 83, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at his home. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was retired from General Motors in Ypsilanti, Mich., where he worked for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing and tinkering in his garage.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Bro. R.C. Scott officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include two sons, Ralph Rast and wife, Tish, of Cape Coral, Fla., and Larry Rast and wife, Marilyn, of Lecanto, Fla.; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Rast; a sister, Katie Ruth Bonds; and a brother, Marvin Rast.
Pallbearers will be Gene Crane, David Thorne, Stanley Bonds, Aaron Bonds, Tulon Keith and Jerry Don Keith.
