Bill F. Sims, age 79, of Laguna Park passed away October 28, 2010, in Clifton. The family will have a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 at Lake Whitney Baptist Church, 642 FM 3118 Laguna Park, Texas.
He was born January 21, 1931 in Throckmorton, Texas to Curtis Floyd Sims and Oda Rodden Sims. Bill married Mary Nell Caldwell in 1954 in Lubbock, Texas.
Bill graduated from Texas Tech in 1956 and became a CPA shortly thereafter. He quickly became partner with Merriman and Company which was acquired by Peat Marwick Mitchell in 1980. He retired as a managing partner of PMM and moved to Lake Whitney in 1985, fulfilling his passion of the Old West as a cattle rancher.
He is survived by Nell Sims, his wife of 56 years; sons, Bill Sims Jr. and wife, Wynn Powell of Dallas, Steve Sims and wife, Jan of Duncanville; one daughter, Sharon Burleson and husband Barry of Alvarado; three grandchildren, Matt Sims, Stephanie Burleson, and Terry Burleson. He is also survived by three brothers, Bob, John, and Walt.
