Betty Jean Barnett, 62, died this morning at her home in Whiteland following an illness of 7 years. She was born Jan. 10, 1927, in Noblesville to John W. Clark and Freda Millikan Clark.
She worked at Kroger for 12 years, then at Allison Transmission in Indianapolis for nine years, until 1984. She belonged to Emmanuel Baptist Church in White River Township.
On Oct. 2, 1943 she married Charles W. Barnett, and he survives, with two daughters, Connie Lee Sigman of New Whiteland, and Cheryl D. Robinson of Whiteland; a son, Charles W. Barnett II of New Whiteland; a brother, John Wesley Clark of Lakes Wales, FL; a sister, Juanita Graham of Jensen Beach, FL; and 13 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 am Friday at her church with Rev. Ted Rigdon and Pastor James Devney officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
