Some called her Beulah – others called her Marian.
Some called her sister, others called her friend.
Many called her the Puppet lady.
To some she was the Girl Scout leader, to others the Boy Scoutmaster.
Some called her an artist, others author or poet, always working to help her community develop and grow, writing grants and helping establish the Arts Council and theater groups. Some called her teacher and others called her parent volunteer ... through her love Jackson school had a carnival year after year.
A special few called on her to become American Citizens. To her family she was mom and grand mom, a treasure to all who knew and loved her. Let her passing bring not tears of sadness, but understand that God's wisdom gave her peace and gladness. She had a release from pain and suffering on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002 at 10 a.m. She was born Feb.19, 1929 to the late H. C. Hartzog and Virginia Hartzog. She was married to the late W. C. Marshall. She leaves behind a loving sister Paula Hartzog Donnelly, daughter Marian Marshall Harrison, son-in-law Nic Harrison and grandchildren Miles and "Gina" Laura Harrison.
Join with her family in a celebration and tribute to the life of a woman who touched many with wisdom, compassion and love and make a joyful noise unto the Lord above.
The immediate family will have a private graveside moment at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002. All other family and friends are invited to join us in the celebration of Beulah Marian's life at a date and time to be announced later. At that time bring a fond memory of joy from the past and laughter and love. We know she will be watching from up above.
The family requests, please, instead of flowers, donations be contributed to one of two funds set up in Beulah Marian's name. A fund has been set up at the International Bank of Commerce (IBC) to purchase an air bed to be kept at Memorial Hospital to help relieve the pain of patients like mom.
A scholarship fund for theater and the arts will be set up at First National Bank for a graduating senior who wants to go to college and study either theater, art or drama.
Helping the youth of Calhoun County was always mother's dream.
